Cloud Employee

Cloud Employee is a US-headquartered, engineering-led staff augmentation partner connecting companies in the UK, USA, and Australia with the top tier of software engineering talent in the Philippines, Latin America (Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia), and Eastern Europe (Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Poland), with employment entities and on-the-ground support staff in each region.

Unlike traditional generalist BPOs, Cloud Employee is built and run by engineers: every developer is technically vetted by senior engineers before reaching a client. The company was founded in 2014 by British tech entrepreneur brothers Seb Hall and Jake Hall, who originally moved to the Philippines to build offshore operations for their own e-commerce business.

Frustrated by the standards of traditional low-cost BPOs focused on back-office and call centre staffing, they built the operation they wished had existed – and turned it into Cloud Employee: the anti-BPO.

Cloud Employee’s mission is to attract, develop, and retain the best engineers in its markets, pairing rigorous selection with structured learning and development.

Cloud Employee, the engineering-led staff augmentation firm, was founded in 2014. It is a privately-owned software development provider, US-headquartered with group entities in the UK and Australia, and on-the-ground delivery operations across the Philippines, Latin America, and Eastern Europe.

It has grown to over 300 engineers deployed globally, supported by around 100 staff across HR, recruitment, internal senior engineers, and customer success.
