About The Back Room
We exist to free our clients' time so they can focus on what they do best — growing their business. We deliver smart, efficient solutions that liberate teams from the everyday admin, and we hold ourselves to the same standard. Time is the ultimate currency, and we treat it like it.
About the Client
Our client is a remote-first accounting and finance firm supporting 800+ high-growth startups across SaaS, fintech, and biotech — clients that have collectively raised over $17.8B. They're building their offshore team to support ERP implementation work across their Accounting & Finance practice.
About the Team
The team owns end-to-end ERP implementation, optimization, and close support for the client's portfolio. This hire will work closely with a dedicated NetSuite consultant on the team as their primary point of contact while getting acclimated, and will interface directly with the Head of the team given the current significance of ERP work for clients.
The Role
This is an individual-contributor role for an experienced ERP professional who wants to build financial infrastructure for high-growth startups, not just maintain it. In your first six months, you'll become the person who owns how ERP implementations get done — building the playbook, not just following one. By month twelve, you'll be running that playbook across real clients and helping shape the team around you. (More detail shared progressively through the interview process.)
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end ERP implementations — chart of accounts design, module configuration, workflow automation, and user-acceptance testing — documenting decisions and maintaining project trackers throughout.
- Configure and optimize inventory and/or manufacturing modules (item and costing setup, MRP, work orders, multi-location inventory) for clients whose operations involve physical goods.
- Assess existing ERP environments, identify gaps or misconfigurations, and execute improvements to reporting, dashboards, and workflows.
- Support monthly close inside client ERP systems — journal entries, reconciliations, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
- Manage data migrations from legacy systems (QuickBooks, Xero, spreadsheets) into NetSuite or Rillet, and scope integrations with tools like Stripe, Brex, Ramp, and Salesforce.
- Deliver training and documentation, and proactively surface system improvements aligned to client growth milestones.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of progressive ERP implementation or administration experience, including hands-on, full-cycle implementation (not end-user use only).
- Deep, hands-on NetSuite functional knowledge — this is non-negotiable.
- Hands-on experience with inventory and/or manufacturing modules (item/costing configuration, MRP, work orders, multi-location inventory) — [pending HM confirmation on whether this is required or preferred].
- Proven ability to manage multiple client-facing engagements simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Open-minded and adaptable — comfortable learning other ERP systems beyond NetSuite.
Nice to Have
- ERP Administrator or Consultant certification (NetSuite, Rillet, or equivalent).
- CMA designation.
- Experience with workflow automation, scripting, or iPaaS tooling.
Why This Role
You'll work directly with founders and CFOs across some of the most innovative startups in software and biotech — real ownership, real client impact, not back-office ERP administration.
