Role Overview: This role is the finance point person for the people who fund us: our sponsor and our lender group. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance, the successful candidate will own lender and private equity requests, run the cash flow and liquidity forecast, and build and defend the pro forma EBITDA addbacks that our leverage and covenant calculations depend on. We are looking for someone from a consulting background (transaction advisory, restructuring or similar) who has sat across the table from PE firms and banks, knows what they will ask next, and answers with numbers that tie. The role is also expected to set the standard for how Finance uses AI: this person should already work with AI tools every day and be able to show us how. What We’re Looking For: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field. MBA, CPA or CFA a plus. Consulting background required: transaction advisory / financial due diligence (Big 4 or national firm), restructuring or turnaround advisory, or comparable advisory work. Investment banking or leveraged finance experience also considered. Direct experience working with private equity sponsors and banks or private credit lenders: DDQs, lender reporting, QoE and addback support, covenant calculations, refinancings or amendments. Proven track record building and running integrated three-statement and cash flow models, including 13-week cash flow forecasts. Expert-level Excel: complex model architecture, dynamic scenarios, lookups and array formulas, Power Query, and models others can audit. SQL or equivalent data skills strongly preferred; experience with Databricks, Power BI or similar tools a plus. Demonstrated, hands-on use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or similar) in finance work. Candidates should be ready to walk through specific workflows they built and the time they saved. Working knowledge of credit agreement mechanics: EBITDA definitions and addback caps, leverage and liquidity tests, reporting covenants and cure provisions. Preferred: experience in engineering consulting, professional services or AEC; project-based accounting (WIP, unbilled, change orders); Deltek Vantagepoint. Key Competencies: Precision under pressure: foots every total, bridges every change and flags anything stale before it goes out. Credibility with sponsors and lenders: direct, calm and prepared; knows the difference between a model output and a commitment. Ownership: runs a request from intake to answer without being chased. Builder’s mindset: automates the second time a task comes up, and leaves tools behind that others can use. Clear communication: turns complex analysis into short, defensible answers for the CFO, the sponsor and the lender group. What You’ll Be Working On: Lender & Private Equity Requests Own the request queue from our PE sponsor and lender group end to end: intake, owner assignment, due dates, drafting, review and release. Nothing leaves Atlas without a named owner and a tie-out. Prepare responses to lender and sponsor DDQs, follow-up question lists, investment committee (IC) support materials and board reporting inputs, written so they hold up against every document the reader already has. Produce the recurring lender reporting package, including the monthly financials, the rolling 13-week cash flow forecast with variance to prior forecast, and quarterly compliance certificates and covenant calculations. Assemble data rooms and underwriting packages for refinancings, amendments, letters of credit and other credit facilities; act as the day-to-day finance contact for sponsor deal teams, lenders and their advisors. Read and apply the credit agreement: defined terms (Consolidated EBITDA, Liquidity, Net Leverage), reporting deadlines, cure periods and draw conditions, so every figure states the basis it is measured on. Cash Flow & Liquidity Run the integrated EBITDA-to-cash-flow model (monthly, 18 to 24 months forward): working capital drivers (DSO, DPO, unbilled/WIP), capex, leases, debt service, interest rate swaps, severance and one-time items. Own scenario and sensitivity analysis on collections, payables paydown, revenue growth and cost actions; show clearly where liquidity is tight and what closes the gap. Maintain model discipline: version control, a change log that matches the live inputs, a bridge between every version, and tie-out checks that actually return zero. Partner with Treasury on the weekly cash forecast, revolver availability and letter-of-credit capacity; reconcile the model to actual cash every month. Pro Forma EBITDA & Addbacks Build and defend the bridge from GAAP EBITDA to Adjusted and Pro Forma EBITDA, with a documented, auditable support file for every addback (restructuring, severance, cost-to-achieve, run-rate savings, acquisition pro formas, non-recurring items). Test each addback against the credit agreement definition and caps and against quality-of-earnings standards before it goes to the sponsor or lenders. Track run-rate savings and synergies against actuals so the addbacks we claim are the savings we deliver. Work with outside advisors and QoE providers on diligence, sell-side or buy-side, and support the VP, Corporate Development with deal models, valuation and post-close integration tracking. AI, Data & Automation Use AI as a daily tool, not a side project: build and maintain AI-enabled workflows (for example Claude and Microsoft Copilot) that draft DDQ answers, review models, check files before they are sent and answer recurring requests. Pull and shape data directly from source systems (Deltek Vantagepoint, ADP, Databricks, Power BI) using SQL or equivalent, instead of waiting on manual extracts. Turn one-off analyses into repeatable, documented tools that others on the Finance team can run; train colleagues on them. Hold AI-assisted work to the same standard as any other work: every number traced to source, every output reviewed before release. Ready to take your career to the next level?
