The Role
Core Competencies
- Strong finance-based analytical skills and interpersonal communication.
- Expertise in accounting and client management, including:
- Prepaid revenue, deferred revenue, and revenue recognition.
- Intangible asset management and mark-to-market valuation.
- Inventory, purchase orders, and prepaid expenses.
- Payment processing systems (e.g., Stripe).
- Creating and managing monthly close lists.
- Producing tax-ready year-end reports.
- Accounts payable and receivable processing.
- Producing financial reports and GL account reconciliations.
- Competency with software, using platforms like G-Suite, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com , Ramp, and Brex Expensify, and Concur.
- Proficiency in video conferencing tools such as Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams to facilitate client meetings.
- Bonus points if you have experience working with Non-profit or mission based businesses
What We're Looking For
Your Experience & Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CIMA Qualification preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a startup environment.
- Experience using QuickBooks Online. Bonus points if you have experience using the classes feature of QBO.
- Proficiency in learning and adapting to new systems.
- Experience working remotely and developing strong team relationships based on trust and accountability.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to follow established policies and procedures accurately.
- High level of confidentiality while working with sensitive client data.
